Position Summary:


The District Lead Principal serves as an interim or supplemental school leader, providing administrative support and continuity of operations across schools in the district. This position ensures that instructional leadership, student supervision, staff support, and school management continue smoothly during principal absences, vacancies, or times of high need. The District Lead Principal may be assigned short-term or long-term coverage at elementary, middle, or high schools during the school year and during summer school as directed by district leadership.


 


What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)


 


 


School Management and Operations



  • Oversee or support daily school operations, including supervision of students and staff, scheduling, and building safety.

  • Ensure compliance with district policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

  • Manage or assist with managing emergencies, discipline referrals, and parent concerns in a fair and timely manner.

  • Support logistical needs such as testing coordination, arrival/dismissal supervision, and coverage schedules.


Instructional Leadership



  • Provide leadership and support in curriculum implementation, instruction, and assessment to maintain high-quality teaching and learning.

  • Support teachers in effective instructional practices and classroom management.

  • Monitor instruction to ensure alignment with district goals and state standards.

  • Participate in data reviews, PLCs, and school improvement processes while on assignment.


Staff Supervision and Development



  • Supervise and evaluate certified and classified staff as assigned or as needed.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional growth opportunities for staff as needed.

  • Lead or assist with facilitating professional development as needed.


Academic Liaison for Bond Program:



  • Collaborate with the bond program team, owners representatives, architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate educational requirements and priorities into facility designs.

  • Support and advise the bond team’s efforts to engage with school administrators, staff, students and families.

  • Serve as a primary instructional representative on the school construction team, participating in design meetings, project reviews, and site visits.

  • Advise on the development of and updates to educational specifications ensuring alignment with instructional models, program priorities, and student needs.

  • Participate in design reviews and site visits to verify alignment with academic specifications.

  • Other duties as assigned.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)


 



  • Master’s Degree

  • Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in elementary and secondary school teaching.

  • Hold or be eligible for Missouri Certification in elementary and secondary school administration.

  • Five (5) years of secondary teaching experience.


 


In Order to #LevelUp in This Role, You'll Need: (Preferred Qualifications)


 



  • Education Specialist and/or Doctorate Degree in Elementary and Secondary School Administration.

  • Experience in curriculum articulation, development, and coordination.

  • Experience as a building administrator.

  • Two (2) years of administrative experience in urban secondary schools.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


Length of work year:  12 months 7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week; 260 workdays
