Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Clinic Technician to support physicians in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting with both surgical and non-surgical procedures, including cast room support for fracture care, dressing changes, and other orthopedic treatments.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include fitting and educating patients on braces and orthopedic devices, applying immobilization equipment, and coordinating surgical scheduling by ensuring all pre-operative requirements are completed. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented approach are essential.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: The Technician should demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology. He/She must have excellent Gross and Fine motor skills.  The candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Prior experience in hospital, athletic training sports medicine or physician office setting is preferred.

EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED. Degree in Athletic Training preferred.  Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education. Completes all mandatory review/ education as required and assigned.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: BLS required. Certification required within 6 months of hire.

APTITUDES: Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Open to feedback, and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Weekend and/ or holiday rotation may be required. This is a 5 day per week clinic position.
