REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
State of Michigan Elementary Teacher Certification with ZA or ZS Endorsement or Bachelor’s Degree in Child
Development.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with preschool-age children in a classroom setting.
• Knowledge of the core curriculum and literacy instruction.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals with a desire to improve educational practices.
• Ability to facilitate positive parental interaction.
• Ability to develop and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Knowledge of MTSS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Instruct 4-year-olds in a preschool setting.
• Work with an at-risk population; students must qualify for the program.
• Recruitment and outreach.
• Conduct home visits and provide once a month parent night.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences.
• May be involved with the IEP process.
• Attend annual Early Childhood Conferences.
• Participation in professional development sessions as required by the program and grant.
• Take anecdotal records, enter them into an assessment program and use them to develop instructional
strategies for children.
• Implement curriculum with fidelity and use assessment data to drive instruction.
• Lead team in a positive and professional manner as they implement a team-teaching model.

• Develop a consistent daily routine and safe environment that supports all learners.
• Participate and engage in building committees and district initiatives.
• Implement all grant requirements as described by MDE.
• Ensure all licensing protocols are being followed.
• Maintain confidentiality and a professional attitude at all times.
• Lifting up to 80 pounds (preschool children).
• Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required.
