Position Summary:

The Parts Counter / Service Writer serves as a key point of contact for customers, supporting both the parts and service departments. This role is responsible for assisting customers with parts inquiries and purchases, as well as coordinating service repair orders, ensuring clear communication between customers and technicians. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a dealership environment. 

Responsibilities: 

Parts Department Duties:

  1. Look up, order, and invoice parts using dealership systems.
  2. Receive, inspect, and process incoming parts shipments
  3. Coordinate special orders and communicate availability to customers.
  4. Picks up and delivers parts for customers and vendors as needed.
  5. Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.

Service Writer Duties:

  1. Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department
  2. Manages the entire work order cycle process, generation through closing and invoicing for all work orders
  3. Sells service labor and parts ensuring all techs are highly productive so that budgets and goals are met
  4. Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge
  5. Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to billing
  6. Ensures all service Warranty and Product Improvement Programs are completed, submitted to Centralized Warranty Administrator within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
  7. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge: 

  1. Regular attendance and timeliness are essential to this position
  2. Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  3. Excellent customer service skills
  4. Basic knowledge of accounting practices
  5. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  6. Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  7. Knowledge of office procedures
  8. General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred
  9. High School Diploma or equivalent experience required

Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm | Saturday 8am to 12pm
