- 2 years of previous experience teaching and/or coursework in an assignment within the last 3 years
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding, and skill in the Science concepts and instructional best practices
- Endorsement in Bilingual Education or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and PowerSchool Experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Native Spanish Speaker preferred
- Implement the district's curricula and instructional practices that align with the Board of Education standards
- Follow the policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education and the Illinois School Code
- Full fluency and literacy in both the English and Spanish languages
- Ability to teach science in both Spanish & English
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of the Dual Language Immersion program
- Able to develop and maintain knowledge of language immersion models and curriculum
- Engage in continuous professional development designed to improve instruction
- Actively participate in the implementation of the district's mission and strategic plan and the school's site plan
- Work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
- Create an effective and attractive learning environment for students
- Communicate regularly with parents and work cooperatively with parents for the best interests of the student
- Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and provide both individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Maintain an effective learning atmosphere that promotes standards and behavior appropriate to the students' grade level
- Regularly evaluate pupils' academic and social personal growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
- Identify student needs and work with other employees to help solve student health, attitude, and learning problems
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities and self-selected professional growth activities
- Select and requisition books and instructional aides while maintaining required inventory records
- Supervise students in and out of classroom activities during the assigned workday
- Administer group-standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program
- Participate in curriculum development programs, staff committees, and sponsorship of student activities as required
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials,s and facilities
