    Crete-Monee School District 201-U is excited to announce the start of a search for a new Principal for Crete Elementary School to begin working with our school community on July 1, 2026.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified, exceptional, and experienced educational leader to provide high-quality instructional leadership at an elementary school located in the southern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. CM 201-U serves nearly 4,500 students from the communities of Crete, Frankfort, Monee, Park Forest, and University Park.

    The school is comprised of nearly 380 students and supported by a dedicated team of certified teachers and support staff. The Principal leads the school with an assistant principal. The diverse student body is provided with comprehensive and high quality programs to ensure students are well prepared for middle school, high school, college, and careers. 

    The school has several specialists, and PLCs and PBIS are up and running to provide teacher collaboration time and behavioral supports to our students. The staff overall are dedicated to Crete Elementary and its students with the vast majority of teachers having acquired tenure in the District.

    Qualifications for the position include:

    • Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administration Endorsement or Principal Endorsement
    • Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience required
    • Three (3) or more years of administrative experience preferred
    • Other administrative/teaching experience as requested by Board of Education and Superintendent
    • Must meet state requirement for evaluation of certified staff within eight (8) weeks of employment
    • License must be registered with the Will County Regional Office of Education

    Compensation:

    The starting salary range for the position is $100,000 - $115,000. Previous administrative experience is taken into account in putting together a final offer to the recommended candidate. Additional benefits include Board paid employee contributions to the Illinois Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) and Board paid family health coverage.

    Additional Information:

    • Applicants must have all transcripts uploaded onto their application in order to be considered in the pool of candidates.
    • Round 1 and Round 2 interviews are tentatively scheduled to be mid-May. The final candidate will be recommended to our Board of Education at our June 16, 2026, regular Board of Education meeting.
