Position Summary:
Leads employer partnership development and placement coordination to support job-ready customers across GWH’s Career Centers, training programs, and career pathway initiatives.
 
Strengthens workforce-to-employer alignment by cultivating strategic employer relationships, coordinating hiring pipelines, and supporting placements in living-wage career opportunities aligned with customer skills, credentials, and regional labor market demand. Serves as a liaison between WFD programs and employers across multiple industries, including skilled trades, clean technology, transportation and logistics, retail, healthcare support, customer service, information technology, and administrative pathways.
 
Plays a critical role in expanding employer partnerships, increasing hiring event participation, and supporting placement outcomes that position GWH as a trusted workforce partner in the Greater Houston region.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with employers across priority workforce sectors aligned with the Career Center and training program pathways.
  • Assist with establishing direct hiring pipelines connecting job-ready customers and credentialed graduates to employer partners.
  • Promote employer awareness of GWH as a preferred source of workforce talent.
  • Represent GWH at workforce convenings, employer roundtables, hiring events, and industry partnership meetings.
  • Expand employer participation in recruitment activities, including hiring events, site visits, classroom engagement, and employer presentations.
  • Coordinate placement opportunities for Career Center job-ready customers and training program graduates.
  • Facilitate direct introductions between customers and hiring managers.
  • Support resume alignment, interview preparation coordination, and employer expectations matching.
  • Partner with Career Navigators, Employment Specialists, and Instructors to ensure customer readiness for employment opportunities.
  • Track employment placements aligned with career pathway goals and credential attainment.
  • Support retention strategies through structured employer follow-up and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate employer participation in hiring events across Career Centers and training locations.
  • Support planning and execution of sector-focused recruitment events.
  • Increase employer utilization of GWH talent pipelines.
  • Maintain consistent communication with participating employers to support repeat engagement.
  • Support continuous program improvement informed by labor market intelligence.
  • Support sector partnership activities and employer advisory engagement across workforce pathways.
  • Assist in collecting employer feedback to inform training alignment and credential relevance.
  • Identify emerging workforce needs and hiring trends across regional industries.
  • Share labor market insights with program leadership to strengthen pathway responsiveness.
  • Assist with monitoring placement metrics and employer engagement activity to support grant reporting and program evaluation.
  • Monitor placement outcomes and employer engagement activity supporting WFD performance goals.
  • Maintain documentation supporting placement verification and employer partnerships.
  • Contribute to dashboards tracking credential attainment, employment placement, and wage outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement aligned with program and WFD performance standards.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.
 
Additional Responsibilities:
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in workforce development, business, education, public administration, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in employer engagement, job development, workforce partnerships, recruitment coordination, or industry relations.
  • Experience supporting placement into entry-level, mid-skill, or credential-based career pathways preferred.
  • Knowledge of regional workforce systems and employer hiring practices.
  • Existing employer relationships within Greater Houston priority industries is preferred.
  • Experience supporting grant-funded workforce initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating hiring events or employer collaboratives.
  • Familiarity with industry-recognized credentials aligned with workforce pathways.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment. GWH does not offer visa sponsorship for employment purposes. 
 
Key Performance Indicators (KPI):
  1. Increased employment placements for 500 Career Center job-ready customers
  2. Expansion of 100 employer hiring partnerships across targeted industries
  3. Increased employer participation to 20 for hiring events and recruitment activities
  4. Documented placement into living-wage opportunities aligned with career pathways
  5. Strengthened employer engagement supporting repeat hiring partnerships
 
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to spend most working hours at a computer.
