Purpose
At Buckman, our Accounts Department ensures strong financial governance by managing free cash flow, ensuring timely vendor payments, maintaining banking compliance, and handling all direct and indirect tax (GST, TDS) compliances. The department also plays a key role in monthly closing and financial statement preparation.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to support end‑to‑end financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely compliance with both internal and statutory requirements.
Objectives of this Role
- Manage daily treasury operations and approver matrix coordination with Global Treasury.
- Perform daily cash/bank position checks, reporting, disbursement planning, cash forecasting, and support SSC–AP for vendor payments.
- Handle General Ledger (GL) accounting including accruals, review, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Prepare intercompany service invoices, ensure approvals, calculate trademark obligations, and book management fees.
- Upload and validate MIS (GROW) including cash budgets, FCF forecasts, GRN reports, inventory in transit, reconciliation and RM/traded goods consumption.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, tagging verification, and physical asset checks.
- Prepare monthly GL reconciliation reports for leadership review (PL, BS, Cashflow, DWC, Expense report).
- Review open AR, AP, PO items, aged inventory, and aged fixed assets; initiate retirement as required.
- Handle GST compliance—resolve queries from vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Review GST invoices, handle monthly output/input GST reporting, job work, cross-charge, audit support, and annual returns.
- Prepare TDS challans, advance tax payments, and other tax-related online payments.
- Validate master data changes and coordinate localisation updates (TDS/TCS/import duty) with relevant teams.
- Perform vendor and customer confirmations including bank details verification by phone.
- Manage MSME & TDS compliance declarations.
- Reconcile TDS liabilities, ensure monthly payments, and file quarterly returns (domestic & non-resident).
- Support banking compliance—KYC, GKYC, periodic returns, signatory updates, CashPro alerts review.
- Handle FEMA compliance for import payments (inventory, non-inventory, services) and close obligations (EPDMS, IPDMS).
- Prepare quarterly bank facility working capital exposure reports.
- Handle FAS 120 reporting for AR >180 days.
- Support internal audits and coordinate with shared services.
- Support statutory audits including schedules and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct inventory physical counts and job work challan verification (including Mumbai visits).
- Coordinate with tax consultants for import e-filings (15CA, 15CB), GST e-invoicing, monthly returns, rate/HSN updates.
- Support insurance renewal for global and local risk policies.
- Participate in finance meetings, townhalls, continuous improvement initiatives, and standardisation efforts.
- Handle any other regional or global finance-related ad-hoc tasks.
Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate or PG Diploma in Finance/Accounting. Semi-qualified CA/CMA preferred.
- 3–6 years’ experience in Finance (AP, AR, Taxation, Banking, Audit support).
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance principles, and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
- Excellent time management, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, team player with leadership traits.

Preferred Qualifications
