    Salary:10 months �  Starting base salary of $44,100 with opportunity for higher base salary depending on experience, education level, and credentials.

    Position Overview

    Marian Catholic High School is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Academic Counselor who is interested in joining our school community which is a Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory high school within the Dominican tradition of study, prayer, community, and preaching.

    • Master's Degree in Counseling
    • Type 73 School Service Personnel Certificate 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Responsible for assisting school administration with scheduling and student placement.
    • Responsible for conducting individual personal counseling with students and parents.
    • Responsible for reporting suspected child abuse to the proper authorities
    • Responsible for assisting  students in choosing courses, monitor their progress toward graduation, and provide strategies for better study habits and time management.
    • Works closely with parents and teachers to address academic concerns and advocate for students who need special accommodations.
    • Remains available to students to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding, and maturity.
    • Maintains student records and protects their confidentiality.
    • Works with teachers and other staff members to familiarize them with the general range of services offered by the student personnel services department, and to improve the educational prospects of individual students being counseled.
    • Takes an active role in interpreting the school's objectives to students, parents, and the community at large.
