The Extrusion Operator will set up and run various extrusion machines and ancillary equipment in the manufacturing of medical and non-medical extruded tubing. The operator will be expected to perform his/her job duties safely and with attention to the execution of all tasks with efficiency and quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set ups, tear downs, operates and cleans extrusion machines and ancillary equipment within supplied specification.
- Performs moisture analysis on raw materials and ensures utmost quality of extruded product by performing quality inspections using a variety of measurement equipment including, but not limited to:
- Pin gauges
- Micrometers
- Verniers
- Video microscopes
- Laser micrometers
- Troubleshoots extrusion issues as needed.
- All other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of manufacturing/machine operator experience preferred. Willing to train mechanically inclined candidates.
- Must be able to read, apply and train others on documented work instructions.
- Must be able to perform basic math and use basic tools, such as ruler, calculator, etc.
- Must possess ability to calculate the tooling necessary for new single lumen extrusions, run time, part weights and raw material required for order
- Reads and interprets customer and internal product specifications and prints
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Advanced related technical schooling
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, and/ or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must possess fine hand motor skills to handle small manufacturing tools, QC tools and fine product.
