About the Department

General Duties:

The City of Superior Police Department is accepting applications for Auxiliary Officer to fill openings and create an eligibility list. This is a non-sworn, volunteer position.

Auxiliary Officers within the Superior Police Department perform essential support functions to include: assisting with traffic and pedestrian control during special events, assisting during large scale emergencies, assisting with securing crime scenes, and performing other related community policing assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements prior to applying:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must live within a 45 minute response time of the Superior Government Center.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Must be of good moral character.
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony.
  • Must be willing to meet grooming and uniform appearance standards.
  • Must be willing to volunteer an average of 10 hours per month (one monthly meeting plus 1-2 events during peak months).
