Job Description

PRN Experienced Caregiver (Home Care – Madison County, IL)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and experienced PRN Caregiver to provide non-medical, in-home care to clients throughout Madison County communities. This position is on an as-needed basis and requires flexibility to accept shifts on short notice. The caregiver will support clients with daily activities while promoting independence, dignity, and safety in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Provide mobility assistance, including transfers and ambulation support
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, general cleaning)
  • Provide medication reminders (non-clinical only)
  • Offer companionship and emotional support
  • Monitor client condition and report any changes to supervisor or family
  • Transport or accompany clients to appointments, errands, or community activities
  • Follow individualized care plans and document services accurately

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of caregiving or home care experience
  • Reliable transportation, car insurance, and valid driver’s license
  • Must reside in Madison County, IL and be willing to travel within 30 miles of your home
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 25 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Schedule:

  • PRN / As-needed (no guaranteed hours)
  • Must be available for short-notice shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be willing to work at least 4 shifts per month, and at least 1 weekend shift per month
