Job Description

Junior Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach: Flint Cultural Center Academy

26–27 SY


Required Qualifications:

· Successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.

· Alternate qualifications may be considered.

· Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

· Background that includes a high level of basketball knowledge.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of best practices in coaching.

· Experience working as part of a collaborative team.


A successful candidate will be able to:

· Relate to and instruct student-athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.

· Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.

· Ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.

· Ability to encourage student participation in basketball.

· Possess strong organizational, motivational, discipline, and fundamental teaching skills.

· Work with other coaches by supporting and encouraging students to participate in other sports.

· Able to communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.


Salary & Benefits

Stipend: $3,000

Direct Supervisor: School CEO/Director/Athletic Director
