About the role.

We’re looking for an Inventory Administrator to join our Timaru manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory systems and the effective management of direct cost materials. You’ll play a key part in supporting safe operations, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to continuous improvement across the site.


About You.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Managing data integrity and day‑to‑day operation of inventory systems.
  • Coordinating availability, storage, handling, and flow of direct cost materials.
  • Supporting health and safety culture through proactive hazard identification and incident reporting.
  • Maintaining inventory stock levels, including cycle counts and material reconciliations.
  • Ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Conducting internal audits and maintaining documentation such as Work Instructions and Standard Work.
  • Managing First Time Accuracy (FTA) for materials receipt and resolving inventory sync issues.
  • Preparing monthly reporting for production, quality, and cold storage.
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities and sustaining improvements.
  • Supporting coordination of dry store stock rotation, logistics, and just‑in‑time deliveries.
  • Engaging across multiple departments including Production, Quality, Coldstore, Maintenance, and Supplier partners.

 

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Experience in supply chain and inventory management.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, Food Safety (HACCP), GMP, and environmental or warehouse management systems.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and crossfunctional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems logically, and work independently.
  • Competence in documentation, reporting, and technology systems.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to influence and support change.
  • Strong computer literacy.

 

About the team.

This role is part of the Timaru Manufacturing team and works closely with Production, Quality, Coldstore, Agronomy, Maintenance, and Supply Chain functions. You will collaborate daily with leaders, frontline teams, and external suppliers to ensure materials are managed safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards.
