Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related healthcare field (Masters Degree Preferred).

Experience
-
- Required:
- Must demonstrate knowledge of arrhythmia identification and cardiac monitoring techniques. Strong understanding of cardiac pathophysiology and the rehabilitation of damaged cardiac tissue.
- Familiarity with chronic disease management including heart failure and COPD.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- BLS is required. ACLS is preferred.
- Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation or a closely related clinical setting.
- Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) certification through ACSM equivalent or ACSM achieved within 2 years of employment.
- Experience in patient education, motivational interviewing, and behavior change strategies, can be demonstrated through fellowship or internship in an advance cardiac rehab program.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting preferred or completion of cardiac rehab fellowship or internship.

This position requires physical activity including walking, standing, and assisting patients during exercise sessions. May involve exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases. Flexible hours may be required to meet patient and program needs.

JOB SUMMARY
-
The coordinator acts as an assistant to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Manager and plays a vital leadership role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients with complex cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. This includes individuals recovering from open-heart surgery, managing heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other high-risk diagnoses. The Coordinator supports program operations, supervises staff, ensures clinical excellence, and provides direct patient care. Service include individualized exercise prescription, dietary counseling, psychological support, and stress management.
