Job Description

We are seeking a Foreman- Shop for our operations near Brookwood, Alabama. We expect this person to be a role model for the "Warrior Way" and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.

 About the Role:  

Utilizes a strong background in maintenance and technical skill set to bring hands on leadership to teams while troubleshooting complex systems and upholding high safety standards.

Responsibilities:   

Directly supervise shift maintenance activities of mobile equipment repair as well as truck shop operations. Areas to include inside the shop as well as field repair operations across multiple mine site locations.

Direct and coordinate specialty maintenance contractors providing support to sites for equipment repairs.

Ensure maximum efficiency is achieved from employees supervised, adherence to work schedules, equipment availability goals are met, and unproductive employees and issues are identified and problems resolved.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Additional Job Description

Who You are:  

Valid Alabama Mine Foreman Certificate required

Current Alabama State hoisting certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of starting position

MSHA Electrical underground and surface certification preferred

Experiences as a crane operator, rigging, and millwright preferred

Strong background in maintenance

Demonstrated capability of reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical prints for assembly and troubleshooting purposes

Skilled in welding and fabrication

Willingness and ability to work from heights and confined spaces wearing fall protection

Willingness and ability to climb stairs equivalent of 15 story building multiple times per day.

Will require working outdoors in all climates in muddy, wet and greasy conditions in confined quarters in production shafts.

Environment and Safety:

Improve on safety standards by holding safety meetings, conducting safety interactions, and taking corrective action where required.

Ensure adherence to State, Federal and Company workplace policies and standard work procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control.

Maintain a high level of Safety performance through effective communication, monitoring, and revision of standard work procedures.

Identify and report safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace.

Attend and participate in all scheduled safety meetings and training.

Investigate accidents and near misses with a view toward positive action, through training, equipment set-up or equipment repair and report on findings and conclusions.

Maintain environmental awareness amongst the workforce by holding meetings and involving the environmental department in related subjects.

Ensure adherence to environmental policy, work standards, management plans and regulatory obligations and requirements.

Integrate environmental policies, programs, and practices into all activities of the organization.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.

Must be able to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.

Must be able to bend, twist, kneel, and/or stoop for office equipment or materials.

Must be able to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.

Must be able to do repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have quick reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination.

Must be able to lift office materials up to 25lbs.

Must be able to wear the required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA.
