Client and Claim Advocacy
- Lead the resolution of complex claims by serving as the primary liaison between clients, carriers, TPAs, and specialized vendors.
- Advocate for clients throughout the claim lifecycle, ensuring timely communication, accurate reserving, and effective claim strategies.
- Prepare clear, concise claim narratives and present updates to client leadership in both individual and group settings.
- Provide expert guidance on claim program goals, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities.
Technical Expertise
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of property and casualty insurance coverage, including Workers Compensation, Liability, Excess.
- Analyze coverage and legal issues to influence claim outcomes and support client decision-making.
- Evaluate the accuracy of carrier and TPA reserving practices and recommend adjustments when appropriate.
- Maintain strong technical proficiency in energy-related insurance policies and all components of property and casualty claims.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, carriers, TPAs, attorneys, forensic accountants, engineers, and other partners.
- Represent the brokerage with professionalism in all interactions, including client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
- Support client retention and new business efforts through effective communication, thought leadership, and exceptional service delivery.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and provide technical support to other claims team members.
- Contribute to departmental planning, long-range initiatives, and special projects.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
- Promote a collaborative, service-driven culture aligned with the brokerage’s values.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all parties remain informed of critical claim developments and action items.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and compliance standards.
- Travel as needed to client, carrier, vendor, or internal meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent insurance claims experience.
- Minimum 5+ years managing large and complex casualty claims, including Workers Compensation, Liability, Excess.
- Experience handling energy liability claims with an emphasis on pollution/environmental and control-of-well claims.
- Experience with excess carriers, including London markets.
- Experience with quota-share insurance programs.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting and communicating property and casualty coverage.
- Demonstrated ability to influence claim outcomes through negotiation, technical expertise, and strategic insight.
- In-depth understanding of TPA practices and the ability to build effective long-term partnerships.
- Proven leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including public speaking.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal instruction using current technology and office tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
