Job Description

The VP/Dir, Sales, Academic Market position is a strategic sales role focused on developing new business opportunities and selling solutions throughout the collegiate, academic market.

Description

Counslr is a B2B digital mental health platform providing 24/7 text-based mental health support to students and employees at universities, corporations, and healthcare institutions. Users are able to engage in live chat sessions with licensed counselors, on-demand or by scheduled appointment, within the Counslr mobile app. Counslr’s goal is to empower people to prioritize their mental health by making support more accessible.

 

This is a remote work role that provides a respectable base salary along with a commission structure.


Job Responsibilities

  • Work in concert with the executive team to lead and facilitate strategies and action plans for collegiate, academic markets.
  • Prospect for key individuals at targeted collegiate, academic institutions and run cold outreach campaigns to establish meetings with leadership.
  • Cultivate and expand existing partnerships through frequent communication and executive/senior level client visits to develop new opportunities.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate complex concepts/business issues verbally and in writing to clients, consultants, and management.
  • Develop market insights and other analytical insights to formulate clear and compelling strategic sales priorities.
  • Based on a solid understanding of market developments (economic, research, etc.) and customer needs, create, prioritize and actively pursue concrete opportunities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of win and loss reasons to drive sales behavior and results grounded in analytics and metrics.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to develop a strategic go-to-market plan with clear sales priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in new business development and sales in collegiate, academic markets.
  • Proven ability to develop business relationships.
  • Comfort actively managing a long sales cycle and keeping multiple stakeholders engaged.
  • Experience developing forecasts, sales analytics, contracting, pricing, and strategy.
  • Experience in account penetration, business presentation and marketing.
  • Experience building out a go-to-market process for a new product and/or new service.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, Calendly.

 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Passionate about improving student mental health.
  • Experience generating in-bound customer interest by frequently posting on social media.
  • Pre-existing relationships with decision makers at relevant collegiate, academic institutions.
  • Familiarity with tele-mental health services and their associated nuances.
