PROFILE OF A LIBERTY HILL ISD EDUCATOR
Liberty Hill Educators are leaders with compassion, effective collaborators, adaptable thinkers,
determined problem-solvers, and skilled communicators.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary before and after school.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with
principal and others.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and
others contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
• Ability to perform work according to standard procedures and schedule set forth by
supervisor(s).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
● Direct and escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
● Guide or control vehicular traffic near school.
● Communicate traffic and crossing rules and other information to students and adults.
● Learn the location and purpose of street traffic signs within assigned patrol areas.
● Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps through which pedestrians can cross streets.
● Discuss traffic routing and control point locations with supervisors.

● Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
● Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals, and report infractions to
appropriate district law enforcement.
Safety Requirements
● Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of
signs and markers used in the performance of duties.
● Wears appropriate safety gear, including masks.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
• Works in school environments.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
