    PURPOSE: The job of Substitute Custodian is done for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; providing and arranging equipment and furniture, etc.  For meetings, classroom activities and events; minimizing property damage, lass and liability exposure; and ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.
    EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    Experience:
    • Must be 18 years of age.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to understand and implement district safety policies and requirements including those related to chemical hazards, bloodborne pathogens and hazardous energy sources.
    • Ability to perform a variety of general maintenance functions and to keep maintenance and inventory records.
    • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
    • Ability to work with direct supervision for teaching purposes.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands.
    • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
