Job Description

Title: Extra Help - Standardized Patient - Nursing Simulation Lab
Division Name: Academic Affairs

Job Summary


The Standardized Patient reports directly to the Coordinator of the Nursing Simulation Lab. The primary responsibility of the Standardized Patient is to portray the characteristics of a real patient, simulating all aspects of the created scenarios, primarily in the simulated in-patient setting including history of current problem, affect/behavior and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner. Scenario facts must be accurately memorized, retained, and portrayed. Scenarios may be audio and videotaped for evaluative purposes. The Standardized Patient must be willing to assist with simulation tasks such as resetting scenarios and occasionally offering feedback. This position will work approximately 100-200 hours per academic semester approximately and 50 hours during the summer semester.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate


$15.00 per hour

High school diploma or equivalent.

Varied and to be determined; not to exceed 28 per week.

Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment and are paid for hours worked only. Extra Help employment does not guarantee permanent placement. Extra Help employees may only work up to 900 total hours.
