We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Male Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to work with a teenage boy. As a SEIT, you will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in their natural environment, including homes and community settings. Responsibilities:
Provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in various settings
Collaborate with families, teachers, and service providers to establish and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
Create and maintain an inclusive and adaptive learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners
Facilitate communication between students, families, and educational staff to strengthen support systems
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness
Maintain accurate records of educational progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Special Education (required)
Internship Certificate may also be considered
New York State Certification in one of the following areas:
NYS Early Childhood Special Education (Birth to Grade 2)
NYS Student with Developmental Disabilities (Birth to Grade 2)
NYS Student with Developmental Disabilities (All Grades)
