Position Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and completing them daily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compares identifying information and counts, and weights against all incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records.
- Schedules receiving appointments.
- Examines incoming Receiving paperwork for required information, (I.E. code dates, mfg dates, etc.).
- Print out the shipping picklist using Excel sheets and verify inventory in the system first for complete FEFO accuracy.
- Routes paperwork to department personnel.
- Double-check all inbound and outbound paperwork for accuracy before keying information into the system. This includes making sure all picklist, and trailer map sheets, are turned in with every load.
- Prints out all BOLs for outbound shipment and applies the seal number and signature with every load.
- Maintains all paperwork in a neat organized manner to include all load paperwork together to be scanned into D365 when processing has been completed.
- Maintains both shipping and receiving compliance logs daily for accuracy.
- Must cross-train in all areas of the office to keep it as efficient and responsive to our customer needs as possible.
- Promotes a safe work environment through training and implementation.
- Suggest changes in the working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the department or team.
- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
- Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free workplace.
- Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
- Other duties as assigned by management, which may include, but are not limited to, receiving functions, shipping functions, and material handler functions.
