     JOB SUMMARY 
    To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential
     
    JOB TITLE: Teacher
     
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
    • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of all students.
    • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans
    • Utilizes effective classroom management techniques
    • Work collaborative with building administration, teachers, parents/guardians and students.
    • Utilizes effective classroom management techniques.
    • Establish an effective rapport with students assigned.
    • Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
    • Utilizes technology to support instruction.
    • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
    • Manage student behavior.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

    • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal, including presentations.
    • Ability to use basic, job related equipment.
    • Be self-motivated.
    • Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances and a diverse group of individuals.
    • Knowledge of NCLB (No Child Left Behind), FERPA and other federal, state and local guidelines.
    • Passionate about improving urban public education and devoted to making a difference.

     
    EDUCATION: 

    • Bachelor's degree or above in Education
    • Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
