    Position Summary
    Rush City High School is seeking a qualified English instructor to teach concurrent enrollment/dual-credit courses while also supporting core high school English instruction. This position is part of the district's commitment to providing students with up to 33 college credits prior to graduation.
     

    Responsibilities

    • Teach college-level English courses (composition, rhetoric, literature) aligned to partner university standards
    • Teach general high school English courses (grades 9�12 as assigned) aligned to Minnesota ELA standards
    • Design and deliver instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking
    • Collaborate within a Professional Learning Community (PLC) to ensure a guaranteed and viable curriculum
    • Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student learning
    • Participate in the district's MTSS process and serve on the Reading Team
    • Maintain clear communication with students, families, and staff regarding academic progress


     Qualifications

    • Valid Minnesota Teaching License in English Language Arts (Grades 7�12)
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Master's degree in English or related field (or 18 graduate credits in English) required for dual-credit alignment with partner colleges


     Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with CIS or PSEO programming
    • Strong background in academic writing, rhetorical analysis, and research
    • Ability to foster student engagement and critical thinking
