Job Title: Fall Intern - Butler Institute for Sports and Entertainment (BISE)


Department: BISE in the Transformation Lab


Line Manager: Bob Schultz, Director of BISE


Work Schedule 12-15 hours a week, primarily between the hours of 8am and 5pm


Desired Length of Employment: Fall ‘25 semester


Pay Rate: $15.00


Job Description:

  •  The Butler Institute for Sports and Entertainment (BISE) is seeking a student intern who is friendly, organized and excited about the sports and entertainment industries and coming in on the ground floor of a new Butler University initiative. The BISE intern will report to Prof. Bob Schultz, BISE director and will provide administrative and graphic design/marketing support.
     
  • Required Qualifications: Students must be a current undergraduate or graduate student of Butler University. Students must also demonstrate organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.The student must have an innovative spirit and maintain flexibility in a start-up environment.
    Preferred Qualifications: A student who has participated in an experiential learning opportunity with a local sports organization through Butler.

 

  • Job Responsibilities: 
    •    Update communications and templates
    •    Assist BISE director with various print, copy and scan requests
    •    Help with scheduling and attending promotional events
    •    Create content for relevant Butler social media platforms
    •    Assist with writing and updating content for the BISE website  
    •    Maintain electronic files, tracking, and reports
    •    Exhibit initiative to work independently and collaboratively
    Other Expectations: 
    •    Maintain regular and punctual attendance 
    •    Comply with University standards and policies
    •    Ensure confidentiality of information.
    Learning Outcomes: The BISE intern will gain experience working in a Butler start-up with data collection, marketing/communication and obtaining skills in areas such as customer service, office etiquette, organization and professionalism. The student will also gain skills in problem solving and communication.
