Job Description

We're Hiring: Software Developer

METIS | Location: On-Site; Roanoke, VA | Full-Time


Do you enjoy building software that directly supports business operations? At Metis, we take a unique approach to commercial insurance through administrating self-insurance Risk Pools. If you are looking for a change and a challenge, we are looking for a dedicated Software Developer to join our growing team. The position is on-site at our campus in Roanoke, VA. A hybrid option may be available after training. 


You'll Do Things Like:


  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. 
  • Build software applications that adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. 
  • Develop documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. 
  • Obtains and licenses software by obtaining required information from vendors. 


Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated experience in complex systems design, programming, and software support. 
  • College degree preferred in Computer Science or related discipline.
