We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, Ohio
Summary:
The senior accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance and accounting department and ensuring that the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the division and organization as a whole. Prepares financial reports and demonstrates successful application of accounting principles in analysis of financial information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and enter payroll journal entries from payroll system, also uses payroll reports to create and maintain various rosters, lists, and worksheets used for management analysis, accruals, government reporting, etc.
- Prepare analysis/support for and enter any/all journal entries.
- Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset files.
- Prepare monthly trend analyses reports for review.
- Compile sales and use tax returns data for review.
- Perform monthly billing of invoices for the engineering department. Enter all miscellaneous invoices.
- Assist with the development of forecasts and rolling budgets.
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and COSO 2013 compliance procedures.
- Serve as backup for selected Controller responsibilities. Assist with accounts payable and billing responsibilities, when needed.
- Represent LSI Industries in the most positive manner with prospective, current and former employees, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.
- Interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers.
- Learn and practice standard operating procedures.
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance based on the work hours established by management
- Handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education AND/OR Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.:
- CPA designation preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
