Job Description

Job Title:                      Maintenance  Tech

Department:                 Maintenance

Status:              Part-Time

Classification:  Non-Exempt

Reports To:                  Maintenance Manager

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

As a Grocery Store Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the store’s facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition. Your duties will include performing routine cleaning, conducting regular inspections, and addressing maintenance requests promptly. You will also handle repairs and replacements of defective items, ensuring compliance with safety standards and store policies.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Routine Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of the store, including restrooms, floors, and common areas.
  • Equipment and Fixture Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of store equipment and fixtures.
  • Repairs: Repair or replace defective items such as light fixtures, shelves, and equipment.
  • Maintenance Requests: Respond promptly to maintenance requests from store staff and management.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and store policies.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of maintenance supplies and order new materials as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Communication: Good communication skills to interact with store staff and management effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix maintenance issues quickly.

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

  •    Knowledge of Federal, State and local employment laws.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  Good interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be reliable (good attendance and punctuality), organized, flexible, and posses excellent time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy required.  
  • Must possess a high level of integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.
