REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:
• School Social Worker (M.S.W.) with experience in a school setting required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in the development of systems research and application
• Ability to access school and community resources and make referrals when appropriate
• Ability to collect, analyze, and problem-solve around timely data
• Ability to develop and provide parent/staff education and knowledge building
• Ability to facilitate school assistance programs
• Demonstrated ability to develop individualized behavioral support plans for individual students and
functional behavior assessments
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families
• Knowledge of Special Education rules and procedures, Response to Intervention, and Positive Behavior
Supports
• Experience with ASD, EI, and behavioral assessments and evaluations
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• History of professional growth effort or an expressed philosophy which defines the necessity for a
professional to grown and learn throughout a career
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify problems and situations interfering with children’s ability to access optimal educational
experiences
• Create individualized behavioral support plans for students demonstrating the need

• Provide a problem-solving service to children and their families, through individual, group, and
community social work methods
• Serve as liaison between the school, the home, and the community in building and maintaining positive
relationships
• Coordinate and develop resources within and outside the school system for use by children, their
families, and school personnel
• Collaborate with principals, teachers, and other personnel to improve existing school programs and
procedures, and to plan and implement new programs (including preventive and early identification)
and procedures related to children’s educational, social, and emotional needs
• Coordinate or serve as a member of problem-solving team to provide bio-psycho-social assessment
information and expertise in planning for children with adjustment problems
• Participate with school staff in altering situations adversely affecting personal, social-emotional, and
academic development of children
• Consult with and assist appropriate school staff in ameliorating problems of school attendance and in
coordinating services of mutual concern with officials from the court
• Create IEP goals appropriate to student need
• Implement data tracking using various tools and methods
• Maintain case records, individual student data, and general files
• Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is required
JOB GOAL:
To promote the maximum development of all children, provide comprehensive support for struggling
students, and coach teachers/staff to more effectively service individuals
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year per Teacher Master Agreement between the Holt Education Association and the Board
of Education
