This position will operate on a hybrid schedule, with the expectation that the successful candidate will work from our Toronto office three days per week.

About the Opportunity 

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with deep experience in designing, building, and optimizing scalable infrastructure and managing CI/CD pipelines that support mission-critical enterprise applications. 

The successful candidate will lead the automation of cloud environments, improve system reliability, and optimize deployment workflows across global distributed systems. 

This role combines hands-on cloud engineering with close collaboration with software engineering, data, and security teams to deliver secure, high-performance, and resilient platforms for large enterprise customers.

What you'll get to do

Infrastructure Architecture & System Design 

• Implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure.

• Analyze business and technical requirements to develop infrastructure specifications.

• Design IaC-based environments (Terraform, CDKTF) to ensure consistency and repeatability.

• Optimize system architectures for cost efficiency, performance, and resilience. 

Cloud Platforms, Automation & CI/CD 

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment workflows. 

• Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and scaling using modern DevOps tooling.

• Integrate distributed systems, data pipelines, and microservices into unified automated delivery processes.

• Implement blue/green, canary, and zero-downtime deployment strategies for enterprise-scale environments. 

Reliability, Monitoring & Operational Excellence 

• Design and maintain observability frameworks (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent. 

• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for infrastructure or deployment issues.

• Implement resilience strategies, including auto-recovery, load balancing, redundancy, and failover.

• Establish operating procedures for monitoring, on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous system maintenance.

• Support large enterprises with distributed workforces of hundreds of thousands of users. 

Security, Compliance & Governance 

• Implement DevSecOps best practices to secure cloud environments and CI/CD workflows. 

• Integrate security scanning, vulnerability assessment, and automated compliance checks.

• Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes align with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with security teams to enforce least-privilege access, encryption standards, and secure data flow. 

Collaboration, Leadership & Mentorship 

• Lead DevOps initiatives across cross-functional engineering, product, and data teams.

• Partner with software engineers to ensure infrastructure aligns with application architecture and performance needs.

• Drive operational improvements, tooling modernization, and automation-first culture across the organization. 

Skills and Experiences We Value

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 1~5 years of progressive DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering experience, preferably in enterprise-scale SaaS environments or with startup experience.

• Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and supporting large cloud-based systems.

• Proven experience leading or coordinating DevOps initiatives or infrastructure projects. 

Strong proficiency with: 

• Terraform, CDKTF, or other IaC tools 

• Docker, container orchestration

• CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions)

• Cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure) 

Strong understanding of: 

• Networking, DNS, load balancing, VPC design

• Linux systems administration

• Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)

• Security best practices and automated compliance frameworks

• Experience with Node.js and Vue applications

• Experience optimizing distributed systems for scale and performance

• Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python and Bash

• Experience supporting complex enterprise environments with high availability and large user bases

Architecture d’infrastructure et conception de systèmes

• Mettre en œuvre une infrastructure cloud évolutive, sécurisée et hautement disponible sur Azure.
• Analyser les besoins d’affaires et techniques afin de définir des spécifications d’infrastructure.
• Concevoir des environnements basés sur l’IaC (Terraform, CDKTF) pour assurer la cohérence et la reproductibilité.
• Optimiser les architectures systèmes pour l’efficacité des coûts, la performance et la résilience.

Plateformes cloud, automatisation et CI/CD

• Développer et maintenir des pipelines CI/CD pour automatiser les processus de compilation, de tests et de déploiement.
• Automatiser le provisionnement, la configuration, la surveillance et la mise à l’échelle à l’aide d’outils DevOps modernes.
• Intégrer des systèmes distribués, des pipelines de données et des microservices dans des processus de livraison automatisés unifiés.
• Mettre en œuvre des stratégies de déploiement blue/green, canari et sans interruption pour des environnements à l’échelle entreprise.

Fiabilité, surveillance et excellence opérationnelle

• Concevoir et maintenir des cadres d’observabilité (journalisation, métriques, traçage) à l’aide d’outils tels que Prometheus, Grafana ou équivalents.
• Diriger les interventions en cas d’incident et les analyses des causes racines liées à l’infrastructure ou aux déploiements.
• Mettre en place des stratégies de résilience, incluant l’auto-récupération, l’équilibrage de charge, la redondance et le basculement.
• Établir des procédures opérationnelles pour la surveillance, les rotations de garde, la gestion des incidents et la maintenance continue des systèmes.
• Soutenir de grandes entreprises ayant des effectifs distribués de centaines de milliers d’utilisateurs.

Sécurité, conformité et gouvernance

• Mettre en œuvre les meilleures pratiques DevSecOps pour sécuriser les environnements cloud et les flux CI/CD.
• Intégrer des outils d’analyse de sécurité, d’évaluation des vulnérabilités et de vérifications automatisées de conformité.
• S’assurer que les processus d’infrastructure et de déploiement respectent les normes SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 et autres exigences réglementaires.
• Collaborer avec les équipes de sécurité pour appliquer les principes du moindre privilège, les normes de chiffrement et la sécurisation des flux de données.

Collaboration, leadership et mentorat

• Diriger des initiatives DevOps à travers des équipes multidisciplinaires (ingénierie, produit, données).
• Collaborer avec les développeurs afin d’aligner l’infrastructure avec l’architecture applicative et les besoins de performance.
• Favoriser l’amélioration continue des opérations, la modernisation des outils et une culture axée sur l’automatisation.

Compétences et expériences recherchées

• Baccalauréat (ou expérience équivalente) en informatique, génie logiciel, technologies de l’information ou domaine connexe.
• 1 à 5 ans d’expérience progressive en DevOps, SRE ou ingénierie cloud, idéalement dans des environnements SaaS à grande échelle ou en startup.
• Expérience démontrée dans la conception, le déploiement et le support de systèmes cloud à grande échelle.
• Expérience avérée dans la direction ou la coordination d’initiatives DevOps ou de projets d’infrastructure.

Excellente maîtrise de :

• Terraform, CDKTF ou autres outils d’IaC
• Docker et orchestration de conteneurs
• Outils CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
• Plateformes cloud (GCP et/ou Azure)

Bonne compréhension de :

• Réseautique, DNS, équilibrage de charge, conception de VPC
• Administration de systèmes Linux
• Outils d’observabilité (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
• Bonnes pratiques de sécurité et cadres de conformité automatisés
• Expérience avec des applications Node.js et Vue
• Optimisation des systèmes distribués pour la performance et l’évolutivité
• Scripts et automatisation avec Python et Bash
• Expérience dans le support d’environnements d’entreprise complexes avec haute disponibilité et grand volume d’utilisateurs
