Your role in our success:

The Manager, Control Center oversees the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of Chesapeake’s pipeline systems and facilities. This role provides strategic and technical leadership to the Control Center team, ensuring effective system monitoring, supply and demand balancing, and real-time gas flow operations. The
Manager collaborates closely with field operations, engineering, and emergency response teams to maintain system integrity, minimize service disruptions, and support broader operational goals. This position supports a 24/7 control center environment and requires strong decision-making in dynamic operating conditions.

What you'll be working on:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and monitor work activities of individuals associated with the control and monitoring of enterprise pipeline systems and facilities
  • Supervise and manage control center projects according to Company specifications
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of department budgets and forecasts
  • Provide subject matter expertise for control center activities in compliance audits, responses to data requests, annual reporting, or other such compliance activities
  • Maintain working relationships and routinely liaison with other internal departments and representatives from upstream pipelines that impact system operation
  • Lead and/or perform change management functions such as planning, process development, communications, and support to enhance control center operations and education of control center personnel

Who you are:

  • Operational Knowledge: in-depth knowledge of operational systems and technology, including SCADA, alarm management, and incident reporting tools 
  • Leadership: strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team in high-pressure environments
  • Technology: strong computer skills with full MS Office Suite, ability to learn other software required (SCADA, POEMS, etc.), and open-minded to emerging technologies like AI and automation to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency in an ever-changing environment
  • Communication Skills (both written and oral): proficient in communicating effectively with team members, leadership, stakeholders, and industry peers
  • Working knowledge of all regulatory requirements: PHMSA, FERC, and state Public Service Commissions
  • Ability to cover shift rotation as needed, lead emergency response activities, and rotate on call according to the control center schedule
  • Bachelor’s degree (Energy Industry, Engineering, Business) or technical education plus five years industry experience as evaluated by management
  • Six (6) years of experience in Control Room Operations, minimum of 2 years in a people leader role
  • Standard driver’s license
  • Manager will be required to pass fatigue training, console qualification tests on all consoles, and OQ to complete training. As an ongoing certification, Manager
    is required to test and pass the following: annual fatigue training, console tests every 3 years, and OQ every 3 years
