About the Department

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Employment Period:

  • 2026 summer season (3 to 6 months)
  • Hours are from 1:30pm to 10:00pm.
  • The days of the week vary depending on shift (Monday through Friday, or Thursday through Monday)

Job Summary:
The City of Billings Parks Department is seeking several seasonal Restroom Park Attendants.  These are three-to-six-month seasonal positions.   

Position Duties

Duties include emptying park trash cans, litter pickup, cleaning restrooms, shelter cleanup, playground maintenance, maintaining picnic tables & park benches, and daily inspection of multiple parks.  From time to time the position may call for assisting with park irrigation, and miscellaneous tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must have completed High School and past employment experience a plus.
  • Job experience with push mowers, litter pickup, playgrounds, landscape, weeds, restrooms, etc. will be given preference.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Other Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work with shovel, rake, weed chopping tools, pruning tools, etc. as a regular part of job routine.
  • Capable of considerable walking in work areas during performance of duties.
  • Able to perform repetitive motions for periods of 1/2 hour or longer, using various tools and implements for yard work and gardening.
  • Able to climb relatively steep inclines and/or ladders. 
  • Able to do frequent bending at the knees and the waist.
  • Able to do frequent twisting or turning of the upper body.
  • Able to use power weed trimmers and push mowers.
  • Able to do gripping and grasping of tools for periods of 1/2 hour or longer.
  • Lifting and carrying of items 1 - 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Pushing and pulling objects 1 -150 lbs. frequently.
Safety & Environment:
  • Maintain a Safety attitude. Watch out for yourself, coworkers, and the public.
  • Must understand your role in safety.
  • Must wear Personal Protection Equipment when and where required.
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions including rain, wind, heat, and cold.
  • Able to work in an environment with extended exposure to the sun.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
