We’re looking for a maintenance professional to assist in the maintenance, facilities, and janitorial operations across The Forge: Lemont Quarries.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Janitorial Technician will be responsible for completing various janitorial duties, preventative maintenance, and improvement tasks throughout The Forge: Lemont Quarries. The ideal candidate will be well versed in general maintenance tasks and help create a clean and inviting environment for park guests.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Core Cleaning Duties

• Restrooms: Clean, sanitize, and restock with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Trash: Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the park, litter removal.
• Floors: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. 
• Windows & Walls: Wash windows, mirrors, and sometimes walls, including tent tops. 
• Park Common Area: Dust, wipe, and disinfect countertops, table tops, benches , door handles, and other high-touch areas. 

Maintenance, Inspection & Security

• Participating in the hands-on efforts of the maintenance team.
• Assisting the Programming team with pre and post event operational needs
• Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues. Promptly notify management if unable to complete a required repair.
• Complying with all health and safety policies, and suggesting updates when necessary.
• Minor Repairs: Fix minor issues with equipment, fixtures, or tools.
• Reporting: Notify managers of major repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Security: Lock doors, monitor premises, and ensure safety. 
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Groundskeeping (as needed)

• Mow lawns, trim bushes, and clear snow and debris from walkways. 
• Rake and maintain path edges

Inventory & Supply Management

• Maintain water refill stations stocked throughout the day.
• Monitor and order cleaning supplies.
• Maintain janitorial closets clean and organized

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance and groundskeeping.
• Acknowledgement of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
• Ability to keep track of and report on work projects and activities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain equipment, facilities, and grounds in all weather conditions
• A high level of self-awareness and receptivity to coaching
• Availability to work varied shifts inside and outside the park, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Energetic, creative, and passionate in the way you work and work with all staff to create a “bought-in” culture that lives and breathes excellence in the everyday adventure
• Ability to pitch in at all levels; everyone at The Forge believes there is no room for a “not my job” attitude
• Ability to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements

PHYSICAL AND SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this position, you must be available to work a full-time schedule with additional weekend and holiday hours as needed to address immediate concerns and peak season maintenance issues that may arise. 

Additionally, because our business is the operation of an outdoor adventure park, you must be willing to work in all seasonal outdoor weather conditions as management and operational duties may require. This means that you must be willing and able to climb onto park facilities such as cargo container structures and park attractions as necessary and lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
