Position Overview:
Employment Type: Full-Time, 175 Ten-Hour Shifts Annually

We are seeking a skilled and
motivated Neurosurgical Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our dedicated
team at Monument Health in South Dakota. This role is primarily focused on
inpatient care, with responsibilities in the ICU, ward, and emergency department,
as well as some clinic follow-up, but no elective cases. The ideal candidate
will have at least two years of neurosurgical experience, preferably with
trauma exposure. While experience in the operating room (OR) is a plus, it is
not required; ICU experience is highly valued. You will work closely with the
trauma team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, contributing to our
efforts to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to neurosurgical
patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up,
primarily in inpatient settings such as the ICU, ward, and emergency
    department.

  • Assist in preoperative, intraoperative, and
postoperative care in collaboration with neurosurgeons, trauma surgeons,
    and other healthcare professionals.

  • Perform advanced procedures as credentialed,
including lumbar punctures, ventriculostomies, ICP monitoring, and wound
    management.

  • Participate actively in daily rounds, patient
    consultations, and interdisciplinary team meetings.

  • Contribute to the program’s quality improvement
initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant
(PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.

  • Current and unrestricted license in South Dakota
    as a PA or NP.

  • Board certification by NCCPA (PA) or AANP/ANCC
    (NP).

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in neurosurgery,
    with trauma experience preferred.

  • ICU experience is a significant advantage.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic
    Life Support (BLS) certifications.

  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work
independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and
    problem-solving skills.

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Full-time position with 175 ten-hour shifts
    annually.

  • Competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits
package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Why Choose SAMGI?

  • Join a team that values excellence,
    collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Be part of a growing organization with a strong
commitment to quality and patient outcomes.

  • Enjoy a supportive work environment that fosters
    professional growth and development.
