    Job Title:  After-School Detention Monitor
    Reports To:  CHS Principal
    Employment Status:  Supplemental - $25.00 Hourly Rate
     

    Job Summary:
    The After-School Detention Monitor is responsible for supervising students assigned to after-school detention. The teacher will provide a structured, orderly, and respectful environment while ensuring students use their time productively for academic work or reflection.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise students assigned to detention while maintaining a safe and controlled environment.
    • Enforce school rules, policies, and expectations consistently and fairly.
    • Ensure students are engaged in appropriate academic work, reading, or structured reflection activities.
    • Monitor student behavior and provide corrective guidance when necessary.
    • Maintain accurate attendance and behavior records for students in detention.
    • Communicate concerns with building administration and/or teachers, as appropriate.
    • Promote responsibility, respect, and accountability among students.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Ohio teaching license.
    • Prior teaching or classroom management experience preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain composure and fairness when dealing with disciplinary situations.
    • Commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students.

     

    Schedule & Compensation:

    • Position will be in a designated CHS Classroom, 1-2 days per week for 1-hour each day as needed
    • Compensation:  $25 per hour
