TITLE:  Nutritional Services - General Cafeteria


 


REPORTS TO :  Cafeteria Manager


 


AVAILABLE:   ASAP


 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  10-month work year (student days only) Salary in accordance with the Nutritional Services Collective Bargaining Agreement.


 


DESCRIPTION:  Part-time rotating position to assist with preparing and serving meals, dishwashing, cashiering and general cafeteria/kitchen cleaning.


 


PRINCIPLE FUNCTION :  The nutritional services cafeteria worker is essential in the preparation and delivery of nutritious and cost effective meals to students.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 



  1. Assist in the preparation and delivery of food in accordance with food preparation, food service, sanitation and safety guidelines and regulations.

  2. Ensure that food temperature, serving techniques and service portions are in accordance with the Department of Nutritional Services rules, regulations and guidelines.

  3. Assist in the cleaning of all Nutritional Services facilities, including, but not limited to, wiping down tables at the direction of the School Cafeteria Manager

  4. Maintain a positive attitude and emphasize teamwork to accomplish building department and district goals.

  5. Recognize problems that may arise in the delivery of food and work with the School Cafeteria Manager to devise creative and resourceful solutions.

  6. Operate Point of Sale(POS) computer, accept money and make change for all students and staff members purchasing meals.


 


REQUIREMENTS:



  • High School Diploma or demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with others.

  • Excellent personal hygiene.

  • Must be able to push and/or pull 25 pounds and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Prior experience in the Food Services industry preferred
