Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:   High School Diploma, GED, or licensing-approved equivalent. Demonstrates aptitude for successful                completion of assigned task


 


REPORTS TO:           Bluejay Nest Director


 


 


JOB GOALS:             To help provide a smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.


 


PAY GRADE:             Grade 3: $9.30 and $14.80.     Grade 6:(60 college hours)  $10.80 - $16.30


 


 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


 



  1. Direct care of children.

  2. Manage classroom activities.

  3. Ensure children learn positive behaviors and are provided with guidance and approved discipline.

  4. Set schedules and routines for grooming, feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning the room and toys.

  5. Develop and encourage age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children acquire basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, and sharing.

  6. Maintain a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.

  7. Participate in the development and implementation of lesson plans.

  8. Help with classroom arrangement.

  9. Provide parent communication and family engagement.

  10. Provide program development and evaluation.

  11. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal or teacher may assign from time to time.


 


Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification requirements and participate in state-mandated professional development.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


Same as the school calendar, including professional days.
