We are seeking a Consultant Vascular Surgeon (Part-Time) to support the delivery of high-quality vascular surgical services at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH). The role involves providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of vascular conditions, contributing to safe surgical care and optimal patient outcomes across outpatient and inpatient settings.
Work Pattern: Part-time role, 1–2 days per week (service requirement referenced as 1.5 days/week).
Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level clinical assessment and management for patients with vascular disease in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Perform and/or oversee open and endovascular vascular procedures in line with approved clinical privileges and hospital scope of services.
- Ensure comprehensive pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative decision-making, and post-operative follow-up, including complication management and continuity of care.
- Collaborate closely with Anesthesia, ICU, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
- Participate in MDT discussions, case reviews, and shared decision-making for complex vascular cases.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and ensure compliance with DOH requirements, hospital policies, and accreditation standards.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement activities as required.
- Support education and knowledge-sharing within the department (e.g., mentoring, case discussions, clinical updates) aligned with service needs.
Qualifications
- MBBS (or equivalent) with specialty certification in Vascular Surgery (e.g., CCT/Board/recognized higher specialist qualification aligned with DOH PQR requirements).
- Eligibility for, or holding, a valid UAE medical license (DOH eligibility/approval preferred for Abu Dhabi practice).
- Proven consultant-level capability in the management of vascular surgical cases with strong commitment to patient safety and outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, and high standards of clinical governance.
Part-Time Suitability: Ability to deliver consistent clinical coverage 1–2 days per week and integrate seamlessly with the service schedule.
