Responsible for the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the Veritas Netbackup application across multiple environments (Testing, Unclassified, and Classified).
Maintain the appropriate DOD Cyber compliance level as directed by the program Cyber security office via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs.
Provide technical input and accomplish development, deployment, and configuration tasks to maintain the current operational environment.
Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms.
Perform periodic disaster recovery scenarios.
Maintain backup policies and standards.
Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
Maintain all equipment for the backup environment, including servers and disk storage devices.
Manage and execute complex database backups, particularly in SQL and Oracle environments, to ensure data protection.
Create and maintain documentation.
Follow and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes.
Follow ITIL and industry best practices for Change Management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 8-12 years of hands-on system administration experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
DoD 8570 IAT II certified.
Active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain CI/POLY.
5+ years of experience with Veritas NetBackup 8.x or greater.
5+ years of experience with MS-Windows, Solaris, and RHEL/OEL Linux environments.
2+ years of experience with VMware 7.x or greater.
2+ years of experience with network communication (IP-based).
Installation and configuration experience with Windows Server 2019 and RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 and higher.
Experience with Windows PowerShell and Bash shell scripting.
Experience with NetBackup data protection and VMware Backup.
Strong CLI skills.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications.
Strong documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player.
