Description

JARC is looking to add ASL Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to our growing team of compassionate care providers. Our DSPs are the heart of the organization—engaging with and providing direct care to the individuals we serve. This position is responsible for all aspects of personal care, daily living, and housekeeping within an assigned home, with a focus on supporting individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deafblind.

A typical shift may include cooking, cleaning, shopping, bathing, dressing, laundry, and other elements of daily living, working alongside and supporting our person’s served. Candidates should demonstrate respect, patience, and cultural understanding while providing care. DSPs will report to individual Home Managers and District Managers.

Qualifications

Provide individuals served within the assigned home with assistance, companionship, and support in daily living activities.

Communicate fluently in American Sign Language (ASL) to ensure accessible and respectful communication.

Support individuals in maintaining and developing life skills, independence, and community engagement.

Comply with all OCHN and JARC standards, as well as applicable licensing, accrediting, and contractual requirements.

  • Drive persons served to and from errands, appointments, or community events using a JARC vehicle.

  • Accurately document daily notes, medications, and other required information in a timely manner.

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with persons served, co-workers, and supervisors.

  • Adhere to assigned work schedules and maintain consistent attendance.
