Position Summary
Sun & Ski Sports is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to own payroll processing and support benefits administration
for our multi-state retail workforce. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and ownership over payroll processes, while
also supporting benefits enrollment and changes. This role operates with a high level of autonomy and ownership over payroll
processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You’ll Do
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Payroll (Primary Responsibility)
- Process full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
- Ensure accuracy of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
- Audit timekeeping and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy
- Partner with managers to ensure timely and accurate submissions
Benefits Administration
- Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Support open enrollment and qualifying life events
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits
- Coordinate with external vendors and brokers
- Ensure accurate payroll deductions related to benefits
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, wage and hours laws, and multi-state regulations
- Support payroll audits, reporting, and documentation
- Maintain accurate records for compliance and internal audit
Employee Support
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, paychecks, taxes, and benefits
- Resolve discrepancies and escalate complex issues as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- 2–5 years of payroll and/or benefits administration
- Experience with multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits processes
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP, AS/400, Workday, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively
