Position Summary

The Environmental Engineer provides senior-level technical leadership in environmental compliance, remediation, and resource management. The position manages complex environmental projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports federal environmental programs across multiple facilities.

 

Essential Functions

  • Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and technical reports.
  • Design and oversee environmental protection projects, including remediation systems, water reclamation facilities, and air pollution control systems.
  • Develop technical scopes of work, independent government cost estimates, and evaluate contractor proposals.
  • Manage environmental projects ($1M–$3M), including schedules, budgets, quality control, and contractor performance.
  • Review contractor work products for technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and completeness.
  • Conduct hazardous waste management studies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Inspect industrial and municipal facilities for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Support environmental liability documentation and reporting.
  • Analyze scientific data and perform quality assurance/quality control evaluations.
  • Advise federal agencies on remediation strategies and contaminated site cleanup.
  • Implement and utilize environmental engineering software systems, including database management and GIS platforms.
  • Support compliance with environmental regulations including CERCLA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, SPCC, and NPDES requirements.
  • Develop engineering protocols to reduce energy use, water consumption, waste generation, and environmental impact.
  • Monitor and report on environmental improvement and sustainability initiatives.
