Classification Title: Temporary Position
DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Athletics and Activities Manager and building administration, the Advisors/Volunteer Advisors organize and administer the activity which he/she/they advise.
- Advisors are hired seasonally and are considered temporary employees. Advisors receive no benefits.
- Advisors are hired based on a school referral only, do not submit an application if a school has not submitted a hiring recommendation request.
- Advisor positions may be paid or volunteered. Paid advisors receive a stipend at the end of the session.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet all qualifications below to be considered for the vacancy.
- Must be 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION
Compensation
This is a temporary position and the rate of pay can be reviewed in the Master Agreement between Howard County Board of Education and Howard County Education Association (Page 48-50) with the attached link.

Pre-Employment Requirements
Professional references will be contacted prior to any offer of employment. Recommended candidates will be required to provide references from current and recent supervisors.
All employees, regular and temporary, must be fingerprinted, have a criminal background investigation completed, and successfully complete the Maryland Employment History Review, pursuant to Section 6-113.2 of the Education Article, Annotated Code of Maryland. In addition, some positions will require completion of a physical examination and/or drug testing.
