Job Description

Job Summary

  • Seeking a Data Scientist responsible for designing and implementing automated data processing and reporting solutions to support mission and operational needs
  • Success in this role is driven by the ability to develop scalable ETL workflows, enable efficient data ingestion, and automate reporting processes
  • The position focuses on transforming complex datasets into reliable, structured outputs while ensuring data quality, consistency, and usability for downstream analytics and reporting

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows to support automated reporting
  • Implement incremental and batch data ingestion pipelines with robust data validation and error handling
  • Perform data transformation and modeling using SQL and Python (Pandas, PySpark, or Polars)
  • Execute data preprocessing tasks, including minimizing, filtering, normalizing, aggregating, and reshaping datasets for reporting purposes
  • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines to ensure timely and accurate reporting outputs
  • Build and maintain Python-based automation packages and tools for use by agency personnel
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all stages of the data lifecycle
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Support integration of reporting outputs into visualization platforms

Required Qualifications

  • Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (MD Customer)
  • Master’s Degree with 6 years of relevant experience, Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree with 10 years of in-depth relevant experience that is clearly related to the position
  • Strong experience designing and implementing ETL workflows and data pipelines
  • Proficiency in Python with experience using Pandas, PySpark, or Polars
  • Strong experience with SQL for data querying and transformation
  • Experience with data preprocessing and transformation techniques
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with dashboard automation and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience developing reusable automation tools or packages for end users
  • Familiarity with data validation frameworks and data quality best practices
  • Experience working in enterprise or government data environments

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
