POSITION PURPOSE:

As an Inventory Control Manager, you will manage the procurement, inventory, and optimization of materials necessary for our operations. Reporting to the Plant Materials and Planning Manager, you will work closely with a small team and internal clients, to ensure materials are available when needed, support inventory management, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations. A key aspect of this role includes ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations related to inventory and financial reporting.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team-orientated, problem-solver, demonstrate initiative in identifying potential issues and devises proactive solutions, compliance-focused and a continuous learner.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, inventory control, or a related.
  •  Experience in manufacturing or operations environments is preferred.
  • 1 – 2 years managing a team.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements related to inventory management and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Oracle ERP systems or inventory management software is a plus.
  • Bi-lingual English & Spanish a plus

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production while avoiding excess stock. Implement and monitor inventory controls.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a small team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective material handling and process adherence.
  • Cost Management: Analyze material costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek and implement improvements in materials handling and inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • SOX Compliance: Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley regulations by maintaining accurate records, implementing controls, and participating in audits related to inventory and materials management.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for inventory, orders, and supplier interactions. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

SCOPE & EXPECATIONS:

  • Familiarity with inventory management and SOX compliance processes.
  • Availability to work occasional Saturdays is required.
  • Travel Requirements:
      • Travel is generally not required for this position. However, should travel be necessary, ample notice will be provided in advance.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Working Environment: Typical indoor manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required on the production floor. Safety glasses are required on the production floor. Some out-of-town travel is required. Occasional weekend work required.
