    Title: Director of Human Resources and SafetyFLSA Status: Exempt
    Reports To: COOPay Range: $115,000-$140,000

    SUMMARY:   

    The Director of Human Resources and Safety is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of human resources and Safety functions.  This role involves developing and implementing HR policies and programs, managing employee relations, and optimizing payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate compensation. The Director will lead the recruitment and onboarding processes.  Additionally, the Director will oversee the Safety process, ensuring communication with SRO's, Training Principals, Investigations and Title IX coordination.  The Director will work closely with finance to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.  This role requires strategic planning to align HR and payroll functions with the district's goals and ensure efficient operations.  

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential tasks performed to achieve the purpose of this job.     EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education or related field or equivalent advanced training and/or experience. 
    • At least five years human resources/school administration and Safety experience, preferably in a school district.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills; critical thinking and problem solving skills; Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.  Knowledge of personnel law; human resources principles and practices; wage and salary administration.  Operating knowledge of HR and payroll database systems and spreadsheet skills.
