HVAC Maintenance Technician

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing, a respected local mechanical contractor, is seeking a hardworking and motivated HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. Reliability, punctuality, strong work ethic, and the ability to take initiative are essential.

Under the supervision of the Service Department Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and basic repairs on a variety of HVAC systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and eager to develop their skills within the HVAC trade.

Job Functions

  • Assist technicians and have the desire to learn how to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems. Includes changing or washing filters, flushing/cleaning drain lines, inspection of belts, pumps, motors, compressors, electrical/control panels, washing evaporator and condenser coils, and cleaning indoor units and grilles.
  • Assist Installations Lead and other Installation Technicians with the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of a variety of HVAC systems. This includes building controls and sheet metal fabrication and installation.
  • Proactively engages in on-the-job training initiatives and demonstrates openness to continuous learning and development opportunities.
  • Able to be a self-starter
  • Ability to identify potential equipment issues, reporting issues to customers and department manager.
  • Ability to talk confidently with the customer, acting as a liaison between the customer and office.
  • Ability to maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Support Service Technicians with minor repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized job site. Must leave customer jobsite cleaner than it was at arrival.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle.
  • Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
  • Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a deadline.
  • Motivated to learn all that is necessary with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration Systems.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Valid Driver�s License required.
  • Previous HVAC or Mechanical Experience is a plus but not required.
  • Universal EPA Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8 hour shift

Compensation:

  • Pay based on experience
