Patient Access Clerk – Laboratory Department



Location: Uvalde Memorial Hospital

As a Patient Access Clerk in our Laboratory Department, you’ll be the friendly face and helpful voice that guides patients through their visit with ease, compassion, and professionalism.

In This Role, You Will:




  • Greet and assist patients, ensuring a smooth and positive check-in experience.

  • Register patients, verify information, and coordinate lab services with accuracy and care.

  • Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, and provide clear instructions to patients.

  • Support lab operations by assisting with test orders, specimen handling, and communication.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with privacy and healthcare standards.

  • Help create an organized, efficient, and patient-centered environment.

  • Collaborate with team members across departments, including cross-training with Radiology Reception.



What We’re Looking For:




  • A friendly, detail-oriented professional who enjoys helping others.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; BLS certification required.

  • Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred.

  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

  • Comfort working with computer systems and electronic health records (EHR).

  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
