Duties

As an Assistant Director Support Services, you will: Exercise leadership in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Advise the Director on program policies and practices. Direct the development, dissemination, and maintenance of policies, plans, procedures, guidelines, and standards relating to agency-wide programs. Conduct reviews for compliance of these agency-wide programs. Review and approve reports, memos, decisions, and other action documents to assure that they accurately reflect the policies and position of the organization. Manage assigned budget including formulation, execution, and other support. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of Support services through subordinate staff.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-14 you must have one year (full 52 weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Preparing short and long-range work plans, goals, and objectives for program owners, setting priorities and deadlines; AND - Reviewing current legislation, directives, regulations, and guidance to evaluate the impact on assigned programs and services to ensure that the organization meets the applicable requirements; AND - Identifying and integrating internal and external program issues affecting the organization ensuring compatibility and consistency of interpretation, judgment, logic, and application of policy; AND - Ensuring adequate financial controls are in place to address deficiencies and verify compliance with the requirements of Office of Management & Budget (OMB) A-123; AND - Managing and administering agency wide service programs such as Travel, Government Travel Charge Cards, Public Transportation Subsidy, Personal Property (Asset Management), Records Management, and Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card credentialing. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
